Haemoctin – The wild-type factor VIII concentrate
Haemoctin is a clotting factor VIII concentrate derived from blood plasma, used for the treatment and prevention of bleeding in patients with hemophilia A.
Haemoctin is administered intravenously and is available in three commercial sizes with different factor VIII activities (IU: International Units):
- 250 IU with 5 ml solvent (50 IU / ml)
- 500 IU with 5 ml solvent (100 IU / ml)
- 1000 IU in 5 ml solvent (200 IU / ml)
