Haemonine

Human coagulation factor IX

Powder and solvent for a solution for injection

Haemonine is prescribed to stop or prevent bleeding due to a deficiency of factor IX (hemophilia B) in the blood of adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 years and over. Thus, Haemonine as a coagulation factor IX preparation belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of antihemorrhagic agents. Factor IX is a protein that is part of the body’s natural clotting process to stop bleeding. When it is missing or too low in your blood, you suffer from blood clotting disorders that can cause bleeding in joints, muscles, or internal organs. It can be a congenital condition or one acquired later in life. The administration of Haemonine can compensate for this deficiency.

Haemonine comes as a powder and as a solution for injection in two package sizes. In the 500 IU package size, each haemonine vial contains 500 IU (international units) of human clotting factor IX. A single vial contains 5 ml of water for injection. In the 1000 IU package size, each haemonine vial contains 1000 IU of human clotting factor IX. A single vial contains 10 ml of water for injection.

After opening or dissolving, use it immediately. Don’t store it at +25°C.
